MOTIVATION: change what isn’t working.

If you’re not stacking up the workouts the way you’d hoped, CHANGE your approach. Change what isn’t working.
If you’re trying to get up at 6am and failing, schedule your workouts for evening. If you started running and quit because you hate it, switch your workout. If the yoga class you joined is boring you, change it up.
Challenge yourself but also set yourself up to succeed. Don’t join the hardest class, join something else. Shift your idea of what you “should” do. If you’re not doing it, change your focus and do something else.
But do it now. Do not let temporary failure stop you. Move forward. Find success.

Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

Winston Churchill

MOTIVATION: make your workout work for you.

Some days you feel light as a feather and want to eat fruit all day. Other days your stomach demands a footlong sub. You don’t eat the same thing for every meal every single day of the week. Why do the same workout all the time? Borrrring. Change it up. Make your workout work for you—whatever that may be. Some days you wanna bang out a solid 6 miles while other days you wanna ride your bike around nice and slow taking in the scenery and stopping for ice coffee along the way (invite me please). Your body simply cannot sustain the same routine every single day (especially for those of us who’ve been running for 15-20 years!). Even for the strongest of mind and will, the most exciting workout will get boring at a certain point. And then you’ll stop doing it. Which we want to avoid at all costs. Plus cross training is of utmost importance! It could be as simple as swapping one workout class for another. Or go for the big change. Get crazy. Change it up. But don’t let your workout defeat you. Make it work FOR you. High-res
